And so I arrived in Dubai in a piece. Didn't take that long to clear customs as I thought it would. Taking a cab was a terror. There were 2 men at the taxi stand maintaining order. I think they were trying to... 'cheat' me by asking me to board a cab at the other corner and one signalled something queer to the other. I don't like this. So I refused to follow their instructions and joined the other group of cabs.
Oh well, don't wanna find out what was going on. Anyhow, the cabbie was kind enough to try to contact Eugene for me. However, he was lost, missed many turns and we ended up... in circles and I paid a freaking 100AED for the taxi ride, meaning $38.50. WTF.
First night at Dubai was nice enough. Chef Eugene whipped up dinner. (: He's the resident cook for his housemates. Heh.
Yup and that's about it for day 1.
