KL - KARACHI?!

Hm… What exactly have I gotten myself into?

Haha, I wonder. It’s 6.38pm (SG time) and I’m in… erm… Karachi.

“Excuse me, where’s Karachi? / Wa lau eh, Karachi di dou lou?” this is the question that rings in my mind constantly.

And so, I realise, too late, that, my trip is a freaking 12 hours (plus transit periods) from 9.50am (SG timing) to 5:45pm (Dubai timing, that is, 9.45pm). Sg – KL – Karachi – Dubai. Help! The best thing is, M’sia Airline didn’t even tell me about the transit at Karachi. Holy Shit.

So smart la, now I am finally bored to death. M’sia Airline hasn’t got inflight entertainment. I slept to KL then slept and ate (food was actually not bad, I’m surprised.) and slept my way to Karachi. Now that I’m awake, I’m 3 hours away from Dubai. £$%$&%^*^&*

Thanks to my mbp, I can vent my frustrations and provide self-entertainment. (: (no la, no internet, just MS word.)

Karachi looks… BARREN. Over the skies, all I see is… erm… soil, earth, sand. And when the plane landed at the airport… erm, it looks… the same. As if I’ve landed on a dessert.

I want to go home. I miss Singapore. I miss the trees.

Never mind, it’s this kind of experience that makes you appreciate home more. Gah. Like, wah, actually food in Singapore is cheap, transport is cheap, weather isn’t that bad… (I heard Dubai is 50 degrees Celsius now.)

Oh and speaking of which, I met 2 passengers on board who told me their scary experiences in KL and Australia. This middle-aged man who sat beside me from KL to Karachi told me he was robbed of 10,000 dollars (?!?!) just last night… gosh, I’m not amazed how he was robbed but at the amount of money he carried on him. Hm… Then there was this lady walking around during the transit looking for a Malaysian to look after her bag coz she wanted to visit the loo. (eh, actually can bring it to the toilet leh… I dunno what’s with the ‘looking after’.) Anyhow, she thought I was Malaysian coz I was the only Chinese on board. Haha… She sat down and talked, said that she is very afraid of peeps from Pakistan / Bombay, coz someone walked into her daughter’s dorm (she visited her daughter at Australia) and took away her bag w/o her realising. (though I was thinking, EH, she’s in the room leh, why would she not scream when someone unknown walks in?!) Interesting yet queer people…

I just hope I don’t fall sick in Dubai. Temperature is bad and I’m getting a sore throat and headache as I haven’t been sleeping properly this week… Brought my stash over headache pills, let’s just hope I won’t get to pop too many over the 11-12 days in Dubai…

Anyhow, I think I look really juvenile now, playing Peggle on my mbp. Haha… Looking around, everyone else is on a business trip and I’m going on vacation. To Dubai. Hot Summer.

Dang! What exactly am I getting into?
